Through Somatic Dance Movement you will learn how to get in touch with yourself through movement. Here you will cultivate coping skills to intervene when intense emotions, stressors, or trauma surface. Somatic Movement helps you creatively engage with emotional, physical and cognitive processes through dance and movement. This is completely donation based, meaning it is FREE to attend with a suggested donation of $5-10. What to expect: -A mix of instruction/guidance and interpretive movement -A group of people looking to dance like no one is watching -A complete judgement free zone -You will be given space to clear your energy, rid your negative emotions, and welcome positivity . . . If you're like me and stress about every little thing before going to a class/trying something new- then having all the information ahead of time can calm some of those nerves...Below I've tried to add as much info as possible so you feel comfortable and prepared-please reach out for any additional questions/concerns. . What to bring: Bring a water bottle! What to wear: Whatever allows your body the most movement, be comfortable! This is the time to enter into your divine feminine- wear that skirt you love, but never wear. Wear those flowy pants that make you feel empowered! Wear whatever represents your soul, whether that be jeans, a dress, sweatpants- it's up to you! Can wear socks, shoes, or go barefoot.
